Substance use disorders in bipolar patients with a painful expression

Introduction Bipolar Disorder (BD) is a common psychiatric disease. It has been demonstrated long time ago that bipolar patients are more painful than the healthy subjects. Substance use disorder frequent comorbidity in BD, but also patients. The aim of our study was to analyze if with expression have substance without pain. Objectives pain Methods We included all from FACE-BD cohort which prospective French outpatients BD enrolled at 12 advanced Centers Expertise (CEBD). Pain evaluated by “pain item” EQ-5D scale and we divided subjects four categories: “no pain”, “slight “moderate “severe or extreme pain”. A multivariate analysis performed identify differences between each pain’s groups according kind disorder, comorbidities clinicals data. Results 1897 patients, 970 had no (51.1%), 507 slight (26.7%), 298 moderate (15.7%) 122 severe (6.4%). found significant age, data older, anxious, represented groups. Painful frequently lifetime disorders (alcohol, opioid, sedative, marijuana) were able characterize different profiles Conclusions risks an anxiety higher score on MADRS.
